12 July 2021, Rome – There was a dramatic worsening of world hunger in 2020, the United Nations said today – much of it likely related to the fallout of COVID-19.
In his opening remarks, the FAO Director-General, QU Dongyu, stressed that "establishing constructive partnerships and engagement with the private sector is key to realizing the objectives of the SDGs" and that "the private sector is a key ally in the global fight against food insecurity, malnutrition and rural poverty".
