We are pleased to announce the following vacancies:

Applications are invited to fill the following positions which have arisen within the Food and Nutrition Council:

1. Job Title: Deputy Director Assessment, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation
Reports to: Director General

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Deputy Director Assessment, Research, Monitoring and Evaluation will be responsible for:
a) Ensuring a national integrated Food and Nutrition Security Information System that provides timely and reliable information on the food and nutrition security situation and the effectiveness of programmes and informs decision making.
b) Undertaking Livelihoods Assessments, National Nutrition Surveys and Rapid Livelihoods Assessments analyses.
c) Ensuring that all components of the Food and Nutrition Security Information System reflect best-practice methodologies, integrate nutrition and food security information appropriately, are robust and transparent, and have buy-in from multiple Government Ministries as well as partner organisations.
d) Liaise and collaborate with other divisions in FNC to improve the understanding and use of complex livelihoods based analytical toolbox and engagement approach, and support integration of food and nutrition relevant considerations in their analytical and programming toolboxes.
Qualifications and Experience:
a) Postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, information/analysis, sustainable technologies and livelihoods or other related field.
b) At least seven (7) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.
c) Knowledge and experience working in the sectors of food security, including in food security early warning systems, food security assessments and/or food security operational research.

2. Job Title: Deputy Director Nutrition
Reports to: Director General

Duties and Responsibilities
The Deputy Director Nutrition will be responsible for:
(a) Establishing a permanent food and nutrition cooperation mechanism, encompassing all organizations and entities involved in nutrition in the country, to promote dialogue and cooperation.
(b) Ensuring that all actors in nutrition in the country are aware of national nutrition policies, and encourage the design and roll-out of common standards to this effect.
(c) Elaborating and supporting communications tailored to effectively engage policy makers, opinion leaders, decision makers and community leaders (including religious leaders) with the power to influence sustainable changes.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Post-graduate qualification in Nutrition, Public Health, Agriculture, Development Studies or other relevant qualifications.
b) At least seven (7) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.
c) Knowledge and experience working in the sectors of nutrition, public health, socio-economics, economic planning, social development, food security and/or public health.

3. Job Title: Deputy Director Multi-sectoral Coordination
Reports to: Director General

Duties and Responsibilities
The Deputy Director Multi-sectoral Coordination will be responsible for:
(a) Implementing strategies and programmes rooted in ensuring food and nutrition security issues remain central within the development and devolved agenda.
(b) Undertaking work that ensures the capacity of multi-sectoral food and nutrition coordination structures is enhanced by strengthening the necessary competencies and skills.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Post-graduate qualification in nutrition, public health, social development, agriculture or macro-food security economics or socio-economic policy.
b) At least seven (7) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.
c) Knowledge and experience working in the sectors of socio-economics, economic planning, social development, food security and/or public health.

4. Job Title: Manager Finance
Reports to: Director Finance, Human Resources and Administration

Duties and Responsibilities
The Manager Finance will be responsible for:
(a) Overseeing all finance and accounting functions including budgeting, asset management, cash flow management, payroll, management reporting, financial variance and accounts analysis, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles, financial policies and procedures of FNC and all other applicable laws, rules and guidelines.
(b) Constantly reviewing work practices and procedures for better operational efficiency, providing financial advice, supporting and input on planning and analysis, including monitoring progress on FNC programmes/activities.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
(a) A postgraduate qualification in Accounting or Finance.
(b) At least five (5) years’ work experience, with increasing responsibility.
(c) Knowledge and experience working in Grant-aided institutions.

5. Job Title: Manager Human Resources
Reports to: Director Finance, Human Resources & Administration

Duties and responsibilities
The Manager Human Resources will be responsible for:
a) Overseeing all aspects of human resource management for all employees including but not limited to recruitment, induction, development and termination, in consultation with relevant organs of FNC, performance management, facilitating the process of setting benefits and compensation packages and working with employees’ supervisors to implement Board approved employee policies in accordance with relevant employment law requirements.
b) Constantly reviewing work practices and procedures for better operational efficiency, providing advice, support and input on planning and analysis.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
(a) Postgraduate qualifications in Human Resources or Administration.
(b) At least five (5) years’ work experience, with increasing responsibility.
(c) Knowledge and experience working in Grant-aided institutions.

6. Job Title: Manager Administration
Reports to: Director Finance, Human Resources & Administration

Duties and responsibilities
The Manager Administration will be responsible for:

a) Developing and maintaining administrative procedures that ensure the smooth running of FNC.
b) Managing FNC assets including maintaining an updated asset register and stock control.
c) Facilitating the logistical arrangements for assessments, surveys, meetings, conferences and other services.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
(a) Postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration, Commerce or related field.
(b) At least five (5) years’ work experience, with increasing responsibility.
(c) Knowledge and experience working in Grant-aided institutions.

7. Job Title: Manager Information and Communication Technology
Reports to: Director Finance, Human Resources & Administration

Duties and Responsibilities
(a) Designing, configuring, and installing workstation and network systems, servers, and devices, as well as maintaining and repairing them.
(b) Diagnosing and analyzing network and end-user software and hardware problems and accurately resolving the issues in a timely manner.
(c) Ensuring that the integrity of the network and security is maintained, including protection against malware, password access, remote access, intruder access, and file access.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
(a) Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology.
(b) At least five (5) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.
(c) Knowledge and experience in managing servers and big data.
(d) Network qualifications (e.g., Cisco Certified Network Associate, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) will be an added advantage.

8. Job Title: Manager Food Systems and Policy Interventions
Reports to: Director Programmes

Duties and Responsibilities
The Manager Policy, Food Systems and Policy Interventions will be responsible for:
(a) Undertaking food and nutrition security policy reviews to contribute towards improved livelihoods.
(b) Implementing food system programmes in line with Government approved strategies.
(c) Providing technical support towards the implementation of food security initiatives in line with the Food and Nutrition Security Policy.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
(a) Postgraduate qualification in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Social Sciences or public health.
(b) At least five (5) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.
(c) Knowledge and experience working in public policy, food systems and appreciation of the macro-economic and policy environment.

9. Job Title: Manager Public Relations and Marketing
Reports to: Director Knowledge Management

Duties and Responsibilities
The Manager Public Relations and Marketing will be responsible for:
a) Developing and nurturing robust connections with FNC internal and external stakeholders.
b) Developing distinct strategies and theories for an enhanced FNC image building.
c) Collaborating with FNC staff to enhance comprehensive stakeholder experience and satisfaction.
d) Increasing awareness of food and nutrition security issues and FNC mandate among stakeholders through innovative and strategic communication and marketing approaches.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
(a) Postgraduate qualification in communication, marketing or public relations.
(b) At least five (5) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.
(c) Ability to develop new methods, foster innovation and inventiveness within the organization’s growth and development trajectory.

10. Job Title: Food and Nutrition Development Officer
Report to: Manager Multisectoral Coordination

Duties and responsibilities
The Food and Nutrition Development Officer will be responsible for:
(a) Supporting the strengthening of inter-sectoral Food and Nutrition Security Committees at all levels.
(b) Supporting the development of a capacity development strategy to strengthen inter-sectoral programme implementation and effectiveness.
(c) Supporting the management and coordination in the provision of technical backstopping for stakeholders’ food and nutrition programmes.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
(a) Postgraduate social development, research or any other relevant degree.
(b) At least 2 years work experience, with increasing responsibility. Experience in food and nutrition programmes at district, provincial or national level will be an advantage.
(c) Appreciation of the multi-sectoral nature of food and nutrition issues.

11. Job Title: Nutrition Officer
Reports to: Nutrition Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
The Nutrition Officer will be responsible for:
(a) Supporting FNC work that ensures that policy instruments which protect and enhance nutrition security, particularly amongst the most vulnerable, are formulated and inform government and non-government decision making and programming.
(b) Undertaking work that ensures that all assessments and surveillance contribute to an integrated national nutrition security information system.
(c) Ensuring that all components of the food and nutrition security information system reflect best practice methodologies, integrate nutrition security information appropriately, are robust and transparent and have buy-in from multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
(a) Postgraduate degree in public health, a food and nutrition relevant degree.
(b) At least two (2) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.
(c) Knowledge and experience working in the public service sector and food and nutrition programmes at district, provincial and national levels will be an added advantage.

12. Job Title: Audit Manager
Reports to: Director General

Duties and Responsibilities
The Audit Manager will be responsible for:
a) Formulating an audit strategy, risk-based audit plan and budget in line with the organisation’s strategy.
b) Playing an advisory role to the Board’s Audit Committee as well as to Management on the latest developments in internal audit and business practices.
c) Overseeing the production and submission of timely and clear audit reports with recommendations aimed at strengthening the overall control environment.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Postgraduate qualification in Accounting, Finance, Business Studies, ACCA or CIS will be an added advantage.
b) At least five (5) years’ work experience with increasing responsibility.
c) Knowledge and experience working in Grant-aided institutions.

13. Job Title: Food Security Officer
Reports to: Food Security Manager

Duties and Responsibilities
The Food Security Officer will be responsible for:
a) Undertaking work that ensures that all assessments and surveillance contribute to an integrated national food security information system.
b) Engaging in academic and operational research in collaboration with national research bodies to inform and provide policy guidance on emerging food security issues.
c) Working towards ensuring food security issues are placed as a high priority among senior Government officials, partners and authorities.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Postgraduate qualification in food and nutrition, Agriculture, Economics or any other relevant degree.
b) At least two (2) years work experience, with increasing responsibility
c) Knowledge and experience working in the public service sector and food and nutrition programmes at district, provincial and national levels will be an added advantage.

14. Job Title: Data Manager
Reports to: Deputy Director Assessment Research Monitoring and Evaluation

Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Manager will be responsible for:
a) Developing and supporting the continuous improvement of the analytical livelihoods based concepts and tools.
b) Undertaking and coordinating the analysis of livelihoods based food and nutrition security.
c) Taking actions that will lead towards strategic positioning of the analysis and insights gained, both among external stakeholders and internally in the organisation, including through writing of topic briefs, scientific papers and other publications, and presenting in meetings, webinars and other convenings.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Postgraduate qualification in Research, Analytics, Statistics, Economics or relevant degree.
b) At least five (5) years’ work experience, with increasing responsibility
c) Knowledge and experience working in the sectors of community development, food security, nutrition and public health.

15. Job Title: Data Analyst
Reports to: Deputy Director Assessment Research Monitoring and Evaluation

Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Analyst will be responsible for:
a) Collecting, cleaning, and interpreting data sets in order to answer a question or solve research problems.
b) Undertaking and coordinating the analyses of livelihoods-based food and nutrition security.
c) Working collaboratively with FNC units to define data elements and reporting standards.
d) Identifying emerging methods and technologies related to data/information management and analysis.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Undergraduate qualification in Statistics, Mathematics, Econometrics, Operational research. A relevant postgraduate degree will be an advantage.
b) At least two (2) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.

16. Job Title: Finance Officer
Reports to: Manager Finance

Duties and responsibilities
The Finance Officer will be responsible for:

a) Debtors and creditors reconciliations.
b) Originating, processing, and capturing payment vouchers, managing petty cash, and assisting in the preparation of reports.
c) General Ledger Maintenance.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance. A relevant postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
b) At least two (2) years work experience, with increasing responsibility.
c) Knowledge and experience working in Grant-aided institutions.

17. Job Title: Graphic Designer:
Reports to: Manager Public Relations and Marketing

Duties and Responsibilities
The Graphic Designer will be responsible for:
a) Working on a wide range of projects and media, using various software programmes to visualise and develop innovative graphic designs that meet FNC’s goals.
b) Maintaining internal databases for designs, photography and videos.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Diploma in graphic design, art or any other related qualifications.
b) Experience in the use of design various design software.
c) At least two (2) years of work experience, with increasing responsibility.
d) Experience in photography and videography will be an added advantage.

18. Job Title: Secretary
Reports to: Director -Knowledge Management

Duties and Responsibilities
The Secretary will be responsible for:
a) Organising meetings, conferences, and workshops.
b) Typing letters, memos, minutes, reports, presentations, and attending to emails.
c) Courteously receiving and directing clients who require services.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
a) Five (5) “O” Levels, including English and Mathematics. “A” Levels will be an added advantage.
b) National Diploma in Secretarial or Executive Secretarial.
c) At least three (3) years’ work experience with increasing responsibility.
d) Good public relations and highly computer literate
